
Accomplishments

Academic: Developed and launched three new BFA programs: Collaborative Design, Medical Illustration, and Fashion Studies. Oversaw and maintained Dual-Enrollment programing. Established and coordinated international studies activities with partners in China. Developed and maintained relationships with the American Society of Furniture Designers (ASFD) resulting in the development of their “Student Design Challenge” scholarship program. Advised/consulted in the formation of the Celia Moh Scholarship program.

Institutional: Inaugural Chair of the College Senate. Co-Chair of the colleges Strategic Planning committee. Developed and maintained relationships with the Grand Rapids Public Museum and the Grand Rapids Art Museum.

Student Services: Coordinated efforts of Student Services and Institutional Research offices to implement efforts to track enrollment, monitor attrition and enhance recruitment.

Fiscal: Monitored the resource implications of performance as fiscal restraint of budget was managed. Facilitated relationships/opportunities resulting in financial, in-kind and material contributions to the institution/students.

Facilities: Primary facilities planner on the renovation and specifications of the Historic Federal Building including classroom/studio layout, equipment specifications and support functions.

Accreditation: Chair of the successful Self-Study Team and editor/author of reaccreditation report for the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. Member of the Ferris State University’s Steering Committee for the Higher Learning Commission’s successful reaffirmation of accreditation.
